Brickwork

We were asked to carry out repairs to the support padstones and brickwork in a 400 - 500 year old barn in surrey, the existing brickwork had failed and the timbers and roof were starting to drop, in conjunction with a structural engineer and English Heritage we designed a scheme to remove the roof and erect temporary scaffold and ladder beams as support, this enabled us to carefully remove the existing brickwork and install new pads and brick piers to a design and specification advised by English heritage and the structural team, the specialist mortar used extended the curing times but once set the scaffold was removed and the roof repaired and replaced to complete the work
